Mission of Special Olympics
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympics-type sports for children and adults with cognitive disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Our agency provides sports training and competitions to cognitively disabled persons in our surrounding communities of Eagle River, Land O’ Lakes, Phelps, Sayner, St. Germain, Sugar Camp and Three Lakes. Athletes must be at least eight years of age.
