Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) is an online learning program authorized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to partner with local school districts to provide online options to students. WVS has a variety of K-12 courses options for learners, including AP, electives, and world language. At the elementary level there are opportunities for learning with an online teacher and to work on your own without the online assistance. This is our most frequently used program because of the structure and online teacher it provides for students learning at home.
Hard copies are provided for K-4th grade students. This is what we have traditionally used with some families that don't want online learning because it is a traditional program with print materials. Build an educational foundation and a strong base for lifelong learning.
You can order grade level packages that are printed only pre-K up through 8th grade. Oak Meadow provides a flexible, progressive homeschooling curriculum for students in K-12 (we don't use the HS curriculum). Our student-centered, nature-based approach allows families to set their own natural rhythm of learning and encourages creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual development through hands-on activities and interdisciplinary projects. This curriculum is not as rigorous as our standards and supplemental activities, teaching and resources may be needed.
