The Northland Pines School District offers a Summer Enrichment Camp for our students with special needs. This is a wonderful opportunity for special needs students to have a fun summer camp experience with their peers. We have qualified, experienced staff here each day to support them and service their special needs. The goal of this two-week long summer program is to increase social interaction with their peers and create fun learning activities based on math, science and language arts.
The students learn many life skills including but not limited to:
home, kitchen and weather safety
nutrition
cooking
responsibility
social interaction
Each summer the students also gain experience running a micro-business. They create products, take them to the local Farmers Market, sell the products, count the money, interact with customers and practice all of the skills they would need to run a business.
