Hometown
I grew up near Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and graduated from Assumption High School in 1999. During high school I played basketball and baseball, and was a member of Student Council and National Honor Society. Outside of athletics and academics, I worked part time to pay for gas and enjoyed the outdoors.
Education
After graduation I went to UW-Stout to pursue a degree in Technology Education. While at Stout I met my wife, Nikki, and many great friends I will never forget. I also worked part time at a few different metal and fabrication shops, learning many of the skills that I teach today. I graduated in May of 2003. In 2010 I graduated from Marian University with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology. This has been very benificial in teaching in a 1:1 technology school.
Career
After graduation from Stout I began searching for teaching jobs. After a few different interviews I was offered a job here at Northland Pines High School teaching Technology Education, and I've been here ever since. I have taught many different clases here, including Metals I and II, Woods I, IED, POE, Introduction to Drafting and CAD I and II, Plastics, Power Tech., and Electronics. While the metals field has always been my specialty, I have learned to love all the different areas and classes, with each providing new opportinities to learn more and meet great students. I also started coaching girls track and field during my second year teaching and now am the boys assistant coach. I truly enjoy coaching track and field and look forward every year to working with Northland Pines finest athletes in practice and at meets.
Away From School
Outside of school I have many hobbies. I have always loved the outdoors and have found the Eagle River area to be perfect for that. I am an enthuasitic bow hunter and spend many quiet, peaceful evenings each fall sitting in the woods, usually not seeing any deer, but enjoying it nonetheless. I also enjoy fishing and now spend countless summer afternoons and evenings hanging out with my wife and our son in our boat. When we're not fishing in the summer we are usually camping somewhere in the Eagle River area or watching the Brewers. Other hobbies include watching Pines Eagles teams compete and working on my house and other projects.
